It gnaws away at your inner procrastinator and pulls you in every direction except forward.
You know the script; your inbox pings and drags you into a seemingly interesting post, next thing you've opened a few links in new tabs and after some window hops and a few aimless vertical scrolls you suddenly jolt back into motion, like your nodding head from a shallow sleep.
Shit, I just wasted an hour.
Why do we do this? We're curious. We strive for more yet we don't struggle too hard... We're 'doing okay'.
This is a tough spot for inciting real action. Truth is, you need less consumption, more focus if you want to make your freelance business rock solid.
You need to action what matters, nothing more, nothing less. Most freelancer advice sucks, it's aimed at too wide an audience at varying experience levels and no one idea ever fits you perfectly. So you absorb but don't implement. This is a terrible waste of resource.
